Memorial day weekend

Waiting to be turned down on Sunday when we tried to catch a flight out to the states.  The boys playing and enjoying life :)  Being a kid is a pure Joy!

We try again tomorrow...Good Luck to us :)

Happy Memorial Day!
We went to Luxemburg to go and see the American Cemetary and Memorial there for those who died in the war in that area during 1941-1945.  There are 6 of these cemetaries in this part of the Rhineland area which is part of France, Luxemburg and Belgium.  Battle of the bulge was amongst one of the many battles fought against Nazi Germany to help keep the freedoms of so many.  It was a somber experience being there and reading up on what happened.  So sad.  Let freedom ring brings on a whole new meaning.

This was a beautiful mosaic in the memorial chapel.
It represents the Holy Ghost as a dove on a cloud held by four angels

I love you babe!

My boys seeing things that they do not yet understand, but I know they felt something there today that explained it just right.

There were Luxemburg and American flags along with a rose on every grave sight.  The memorial is 50.5 acres.  5,076 headstones. 4,958 were Latin crosses, 118 stars of David, 371 missing in action, 101 unknowns, 22 sets of Brothers.......Words cannot express.

Gideon's new bike

I found a FREE bike on the yard sale sight here and it is so nice.  I got it 2 months ago and Gideon couldn't reach the pedals but now he can.  He LOVES it!  Go Gideon!!  I have a cute video but my blog wont let me upload it.
I love good deals and I love smiles on my boys faces :)  The best!!

So tomorrow we attempt the trip home to the states.  Wish us luck.  We are going to need it.  I am so excited to see my family and friends and hope my garden doesn't die while I am gone.  See you all real soon :)

Beautiful view on my Sunday drive
So I went for a Sunday drive to go pick up a free crib (to put in the guest room for when I am babysitting.  I am always setting up the porta crib.)   So lets just say I didn't make the right turn and went all the way out to the Luxemburg border but it was a beautiful drive.  I eventually made it "AROUND" to my destination about an hour later.  It was a very relaxing drive with the boys asleep.  Just me enjoying the scenery and the peace that it gave.

Looking off towards Vianden, Luxemburg

It was ridiculous how much this was that you see.  I won't even mention it but it was good therapy for my week except for my back going out.  Thats never fun.

Getting organized in self entertaining and home school area

The boys activity table (multi use) for a side table for the couch
They are tucked away in a corner of the room so if there is a little mess it doesn't have to show for anyone coming over for a visit. :)

Puzzles, Play dough, Paper and writing tabs, and books along with work books for school on the shelf and more organized areas for the rest of life's binders.

Kid books on the shelf to read and home school supplies and games and activities

I am home schooling Gideon this fall and I am hoping to get a few ladies to do preschool with Bridger and some more kids his age where we can swap out weeks and lessons.

As I am writing this there is army crawling races in my back yard (the field in the back) where they have to crawl across the field then pick up a wounded airman and haul them back across the field.  I think they are doing relays today for a fundraiser or training of some sort.  It is entertaining to watch though :)

I hope each of you are having a good week! Love all of ya~ Camille
