Our Saturday Outing

well before Saturday we watched one of our new friends daughters so they could go to a dinner their squadron was having.  her name is Rachel Davis and we watched Bolt had suckers and popcorn and had a good time.  It was so cute because even Arya sat down and wanted to be like the big kids.  She is growing up so much in this last month.

On Saturday we needed to get OUT of the apartment and out of Cheyenne.  So we headed to a state park caller Curt Gowdy.  It has a big reservoir for fishing and nothing else.  There are all these lakes near Cheyenne and you can't swim in any of them....What is wrong with these people!!!  Anyway, it was a beautiful sight with diversity.  There were trees, rolling hills and really cool rock formations.  We had a picnic and then went for a hike near the dam.  We hiked down to the creek followed it through while maneuvering our way over logs and big rocks we then hiked up the canyon to one of the many mountain bike trails in the area.  It was a nice break from town and a beautiful day.  It was nice being together and outside.

Our day to day life in TLF

TLF stands for Temporary Living Facility and that is where we have lived since the wee hours of 1am of September 29th till now and on till the end of this month.  I am grateful we have a place to live at the moment and a place to cook meals but I am sure tired of being in here.  Tired is an understatement.  Arya is taking full advantage of getting mommy up in the middle of the night because mommy doesn't want to wake the neighbors with her crying.....so therefore I have had very little sleep lately.  It smells in here like...I don't know, but it smells and bringing a week worth's of groceries up a lot of stairs at 6,000 feet above sea level is a bit of a workout in itself.  But besides the gloom we have been having fun and making due with where we are and what we are doing.

Daddy got issued his winter gear

The Security forces on base held a Trunk or Treat here on base and we tried it out.  We had a skeleton guy, a ninja and a cute love/lady bug.  The kids had fun and got some candy.

She was so cute in her outfit

After the festivities we headed over to the barn to clean out our horses pen and clean her hooves and say hi.  The boys played in some banked snow the whole time we were there.  Joseph figured out that our horses run has a gutter that dumps into it so he made a little ditch to direct the water out and not all over her run.  It has been really nice having our horse here and having 'chores' to go and do.  While I write this post daddy and the boys are out working there this evening and cleaning things up more.  It is going to become one o their main chores.  I am excited about that.

We went to a playground on base today to let the kids soak up some sunshine in the 55 degree weather and 30mph wind gusts but hey were in Wyoming now, we got to get used to that :)

Our day to day routine lately is get up and clean the apartment then we do school time.  The boys do a few pages in their work books and then they get to watch a TV show on Disney while Arya takes her nap.....We don't do TV in our home so they get to do it here because Joseph has the car all day and there is only so much a girl can do with her kids when the weather isn't exactly peachy.  After Joseph gets home we have been getting out and going to the gym, to different stores, for drives or out to the horse.   So that is kind of our routine lately.
We get the keys to our house we are renting here on base on the 31st in the afternoon so I hope our stuff is here by then and can be delivered then too.  We will see.  It will be nice to see what inside looks like.  It is a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath so it should do alright :)  The yards are small.  Yes it is Smaller then the one we had in Germany.  So hopefully it all works out :)
Now I just need a harvest smelling or winter smelling candle so I can feel a little bit more of the festive spirit for this time of year. :)  Happy October everyone!

Our Birthday Girl!

On the morning of her birthday....I went shopping at 5:30am to get all of this.  We came in late Saturday night, didn't want to break the sabbath and buy anything on Sunday (thank you mom, the Ramon noodles saved us for Breakfast, lunch and dinner) i now don't even want to eat ramon but you do what you got to do. So I went grocery shopping and birthday shopping for Arya early Monday morning.
The tradition of balloons
