Birthday presents
French Toast for breakfast
Gideon got a cool whistle with a magnifying glass, thermometer and compass on it. He takes it everywhere with him.
He also got a bow and arrows, mess kit, army pocket knife leather bound scriptures with his name on them, a camp chair and lots of fun for his day!
We headed out to the horse after we got all the presents unwrapped and it was a beautiful morning. Our little Philly is getting big. We finally decided on a name and that we will call her Arcadia. She is our first foal for our future so we thought it fit.
We will find out from AQHA what her registered name will be. Her Daddy's name is PG Dry Fire and mamma's name is Haidas Smart Chic so we put them together to get Arcadian Smart Fire. So we will see if they decide on that one to be her name or the other choices we give them.
It is so funny. The first time we had Arcadia in this pasture she was running around and saw the fence just a little too close and did a slide stop right underneath it. It was so funny. Then we had to get her back in with mommy...mher mamma was a little stressed about that.
Now they are pretty laid back and hopefully Arcadia will gain a little more trust and we can halter train her here in the next week or so.
Arya playing on the trailer. Daddy built them a little hay fort in the trailer that they love to play in as well as playing in the little hay loft up front.
The boys loved being out exploring today because Gideon said he could find his way back with his handy compass and whistle. He is our little adventurer.
Me, very pregnant and sitting in the pasture enjoying watching the horses and my kids explore around.....
Right after this though poor Arya stood right on top of an ant hill and soon became overrun with biting ants. Joseph ran over to her and started taking off her clothes to get them off. No fun. It reminds me of when I was out in the garden when we lived on the ranch and Gideon had fallen right on top of an ant hill and I had to do the same thing to him. So after some bites by the ants we all enjoyed playing and watching the horses for a little longer and then headed to the park for Gideon's Birthday.
The boys had fun....Oh I mean all the boys! :)
He had to go down the tall slides at least once with daddy
My Big boy. I can't believe he is already 8 years old!
Arya was a go-getter at the park today. She loved the tall steep slide.
She is not the biggest fan of swinging though :) She will do about one pass and jump off.
My handsome little man
Gideon wanted a scorpion for his birthday cake.....come to find out scorpion's have eight legs not 6 :) I was corrected. and the frosting wouldn't go more red so we said he was a sunburned scorpion :)
He liked it anyway and that makes me happy.
Yep, we had dessert before dinner. It was yummy too.
We went out to eat at Old Chicago Pizza. Arya was loving dancing to the music in her high chair or for the fact she was in her very own chair.
I love family and being together!!
Happy Birthday Gideon. You are so loved and such a blessing to our family!
