March maddness :)

What a great month it has been.  These pictures are not in order to date but they all happened in March :)

 So my hubby got me this dandy food slicer for my birthday.  It works great!!  It is fun to use for breads, potatoes meats.....and many other things. :)

March did go out in style...like a lamb :)  Love our baby girl!

  

Gideon had his first school field trip and daddy went with him.

It was pretty cool because the base let the kids each get order's like they were being deployed.  Then they got to go through the preparations their parents go through when deploying.  They even got to go on a C-17 and some other special military equipment.  Gideon had a BLAST.  

 Later that day we asked Gideon what his favorite part about the field trip and he said "Daddy"  I am so grateful for my husband being able to go (this was a week after surgery for me and I couldn't go) and blessing Gideon's life with being there for him.  Love it!!

Arya is Sitting up on her own now and rolling around.  She is such a joy in our lives.  I am so grateful for her.  Bridger has the greatest imagination.  He always plays this movie in his head called night dogs and will go on and on about the adventures they have.  He LOVES Arya and sometimes is a bit much for her but she lights up every time the boys are around.  I love my kids.  They are so wonderful!!  

St. Patricks Day...Treasure hunt

 They found a white bean in their bucket of treasure and claimed it as a magical bean.  So it is now our special bean.

My Week of Surgery

I went in Tuesday Morning for a Anthroscopic Anterior Crutiate Ligament and meniscal surgery.  They took from my hamstring a piece of ligament that created my new ACL and then had to drill and screw it to my tibia and femur and then cut out 30% of my meniscus to get the damage and tears removed.  They had me go under about 10:20 in the morning.  I awoke in the 'wake up' room and saw that it was exactly 2 hours later.  I look next to me and there were a few other people either in pain just waking up or snoring away.  It was kinda weird.  They took me to get an x-ray right after I woke up and that hurt to have them touch my leg.  I was then brought back to my room and Joseph was there waiting for me.  I was so tired and in so much pain.   So it was good to have some hard pain killers there for a while.  I stayed in the hospital till Friday morning.  

When I came home for the weekend I was really impressed with how Joseph handled the kids and was keeping up on the house.  I am so blessed to have him in my life.  He completes me and is such a good daddy to our children.  To get Arya asleep in the evening while I was gone he would you tube Josh Groban and other operatic singers but Josh was her favorite.  He says she has a crush on him :)

My whole leg and foot were orange from the Iodine they obviously bathed my leg in.  I was so orange :)
I have to wear those very attractive circulation tights all the time.

 

 

 

My Morphine clicker.  It made me feel very tired and nauseous too.  I stayed on that just till the next day following surgery.  I got to click it if the pain became too much.  For a time I was very grateful for it.
I got visitors!!  My Beautiful family came and visited me.  I love them.  I also had my visiting teacher Louise Thomas and my friend Sabrina come and visit me.  That was really nice of them.

 

 

 

The food was pretty good but I think only in Germany they would serve a sausage like this :)  I also think it is funny that they have 'America' dressing.  It tasted like Thousand Island dressing.
The Hospital let me borrow their breast pump while I was in the hospital so I can still nurse my baby girl.

Poor Bridger!!  On Friday when they came to get me out of the hospital he had his hands in his pockets when he tripped and fell on the pavement.  Then later that day he was playing with some friends and got nailed with a hard block in the face as well.  Then Saturday mrning he woke up sick and thew up.  poor kiddo has had a rough weekend.  Glad he is feeling better now.

We are making Jerky!!  Joseph bought 4lbs of a roast and we used my handy dandy food slicer and cut up the meat into strips.  We then put it in Marinade for 24 hours and now are drying it in the oven.  We have it at about 190 degrees with the door partially open to allow the moisture to escape.  It smells great so hopefully it turns out.  We looked up what it would cost to buy 2 lbs of jerky from the store and it would be $60.  WE made for under $20.  That is a huge savings there.  We love Jerky and if it turns out we will make it more often.  Bytheway it turned out GREAT!!!
