Capital Tour and Legisladies with my mom

we went out to Gowen field and had a luncheon with the Legisladies, (those who have husbands in the senate or as Representatives that meet every week.) It was a fun little time and getting to see where help is needed to meet the families needs of those involved in a family member deployed. They also talked to us about the F-35 and how important and such an impact it would be for Idaho to house that new airplane here. It was a good experience and I enjoyed being there with my mom.

My dad sits in this room front row on right hand side second seat in. He is Representative for district 21 A. He is really enjoying being apart of what is going on in the capital building.

Views from the top and bottom of main area in the capital.

This is my great grandfather John David Killpack who was senator of the district near the Driggs Idaho area. His picture is on the bottom right. His picture is in one of the galleries there in the capital building.

This was made out of one piece of wood and was carved by candlelight and a postage stamp picture of George Washington. Amazing!

I thought this was funny. This was in butch Otters office. Nothing like a stuffed otter ;)

Me and my Mom

So my mom is one of the Idaho state capital tour guides and this morning I joined her for one of her tours. It was neat learning all the many significant things with the capital building that I did not know about. The architect for the building wanted to give as much natural light as possible. The light represented the enlightenment and integrity of the government. It is one of the most prestigious capital buildings in the US.
