I finally got a letter from Joseph

So yesterday I received 2 letters from Joseph. The very first 2. He is doing pretty good.

He said it was pretty crazy there in the first couple of weeks and he had to ask himself what in the world he had gotten himself into. He said there is a crazy amount of yelling and he eats his food so fast that I probably would not recognise him. He said the hardest part about doing the training is not being able to communicate. So hopefully with time that will ease up a little bit.

His MTI (military Training instructor) has given him the nickname of "Profane man" because he is the only one who stood up to all the swearing. He said he doesn't swear near as much now then he did. He is the only member of the church in his flight of 50. He does get to march a mile to church on Sundays which he loves to be there at church and be able to bless the sacrament.

His MTI made him PT monitor to make sure everybody is getting in shape. he must be doing well in that aspect :) He also started working with weapons more often and gets to disassemble and reassemble a M16 in a minute or less. So by the time Joseph got it down to 58 seconds he had a crowd of people around his bed cheering him on. The Dorm chief said that he wants to make Joseph the weapons monitor too since he does well there. Joseph Just laughed when he said that.

So as a wife I am pretty impressed with Joseph's leadership skills so far. He says Hello to his Mom and Dad and welcomes you home and that he loves you both very much. He also wants my parents to know how much he appreciates them and for helping us out so much.
He likes classes now. Yeah, this is still the same Joseph and it is one of his favorite times of the day cause he can actually sit and relax a bit.
So all in all it sounds like he is surviving and gets to start doing the more in depth training. This next week he has (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive weapons) CBRNE/chamber training, anti-terrorism, security programs, BMT obstacle course, tactical course, weapons evaluation (breakdown and reassemble). So he is in for a big week.
:) All I can say to that is wow and good luck (:
