The consequences of a toe-touch

So this last Thursday at Gymnastics I was just finished with warm ups with my older girls and we started to do jumps.  We did our routine of straight jump, tuck jump, straddle jump and then they wanted to do toe touches.  I did one on Tuesday that went well but not today.  When I demonstrated I did my toe touch and was landing it but my foot caught on the floor just inches too short and my knee kept going the rest of the way with a loud POP!  I fell to the floor because of the pain and stayed there for the next ten minutes not wanting to be moved.  It hurt so bad.
So after a long 35 minutes they had some EMT's come and take me to the hospital.  (that was embarrassing, now i know how people felt when I would pick them up in the ambulance :) ) and I told no one to post pictures on Face book :)
There at the hospital I was not able to get an X-ray due to being pregnant and so they decided to treat my leg as a fracture and casted the backside of my leg like a splint and wrapped it.  The next day I had scheduled an MRI but the dr. I went to go see was very against me getting one because of unknown risks and the what if's.  So no MRI and by this time my knee was huge and swollen and they were unable to check for further injuries.  So Monday I went back after keeping my leg up all weekend and had the head doctor check me out.  The swelling had gone down a bit and he started playing with my leg.  He grabbed the top of my knee and my shin and pushed up and down.  My knee shifted up and down without anything grabbing and he concluded that for sure I tore my ACL and stressed my Lateral collateral ligament and says if it is just those things then we can wait for surgery until after the baby is delivered but wants an MRI to see what is going on with the cartilage and joints.  So Tuesday I go back for an MRI and the nurses and Doctors talk me out of it because I am 12 weeks a long and they want me to at east wait till I am out of my first trimester of a developing baby.  So I agreed I would wait 2-3 weeks to be at a stage of a growing baby instead of a developing baby.  I have my OB apt this next week so i will ask my doctor then what he thinks too.
So it has been a roller coaster of emotions, Doctor appointments, getting people to watch my kids and pain.
So advice to all, make sure to land your toe touches correctly :)

So now i am gimping around the house trying to keep my leg up as often as I can and wanting to do more.  Joseph has been doing so well keeping the kitchen in order and is going shopping for me later on today after work.  He's the best!  The boys also do a good job bringing me things too and doing jobs for points.
I have managed to get used to the stairs now and use one hand on the railing and the other is holding a crutch and I take it a step at a time.

from the shots i have to give myself (or Joseph give me) for blood clots on my casted leg

Reading Harry Potter (Larissa, I am reading them and enjoying them) I am impressed at how well they kept the movies similar to the books.   I have read the first 2 so far :)

We also celebrated my 27th Birthday this last week and I got home from Gymnastics and Joseph had homemade cake and frosting waiting for me.  YUM!!!  I have a Confession to make.....this is what I had for dinner that night too :) Ha ha!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

On Thursday (the night of my incident) I had some really nice gal friends who had a dinner and girls night at Elaina's house to celebrate my birthday.  It was a lot of fun but my knee killed me that night.
