Well I had my MRI finally and got the news back about my knee.
(Just skip this paragraph if you would like to skip my venting)
After my initial visit I decided to wait till I was further along in my pregnancy to have an MRI then I schedule it and go in on Monday and find out they thought I already had it done so I had to reschedule it again and go into the radiology department and the radiologist says I cannot have an MRI because he didn't have my authorization for it in his hand so I had to go to another department and ask for my paperwork then go back to the MRI and the guy then says no this wont work I need my own copy......Arrrrgghhh!! Being the emotional pregnant woman that I was and already have given them all the paper work they needed on my previous visit and knowing this was their error I was extremely frustrated and lets just say the guy wasn't the most nicest of people. Then I got the English speaking Liaison lady to come up and as soon as she see's me she turns to the man and says, she does too have her authorization and then they went into a heated conversation in German and he left. I was so done by this time but then he came back out and said that he had talked to the chief and wanted to clarify for himself that I was cleared for the MRI. So I get in there and then he goes off on me about protecting my baby...."Now you get ear phones for the noise but your baby does not....(really genius?!!) so if you start to feel your baby kicking around and moving it is saying it can't take it anymore and needs out........( I haven't even felt my baby move yet) so he goes on in this style letting me have it and being a pompous that he was I then finally got my MRI.
It wasn't a pleasant experience and I was just so grateful I didn't have to go all the way into the tube. Talk about claustrophobia. I had to go in all the way up to my chest and that was enough for me. Very confined. So it lasted 15 minutes with about 5 different sounds. The sounds were like machine guns that got louder and faster till they went onto the next sound. It was an interesting experience non the less. My whole body vibrated with the sound waves.
So the Outcome: I don't need surgery right away which is a relief!!
So My ACL and PCL are both torn and will need surgery but not till I am ready after my baby comes. I also stressed pretty much all the other ligaments and muscles in my knee so they are weak and need to not be used for a while the doctor said. Also the bottom of of my femur and the top of my Tibia have bone bruises witch I did some research appears with the same symptoms as a fracture but is a bruised bone and takes months to heal. If used to much before it is healed can cause stress fractures. So I guess it weakens the bone because there is fluid in there. So doctors orders are to wear my brace all the time, elevate it as much as I can and try to not walk so much...... Fun!~ :) So we will try to do our best around here.
So that is the update on my knee.
Now we will just focus on my pregnancy and hope all goes well. I am 15 weeks and I am feeling my self grow a little more now. In 2 weeks I will have a doctors apt. and will hopefully find out what the baby is (a boy or girl) We are excited for that!
We really enjoyed conference and hanging out as a family this past weekend. We colored eggs and had an Easter egg hunt, we then used the die to tie die some shirts for the boys, baby and I. The boys camped out in the tent for like four days. (in the garage) They loved it.
We really enjoyed hearing from the prophet Thomas S. Monson and enjoyed all the talks that brought inspiration and joy to my heart. It was so nice. I look forward to going back through the talks and listening to them over again to catch more of the messages presented there. It was nice to be with my family and having fun.
