We headed to Irrel Germany on the border of Luxembourg
We stopped at the West wall bunker to walk around a bit for our WWII History for the day. We really want to go back when it is open so we can get a tour of the bunker. It goes multiple stories down into the Hill and was used on the front during the Battle of the Bulge toward the end of the war. I look forward in learning more about this bunker and being able to explore it soon.
Then we headed to Devil's Gorge and hiked for the next four hours.
WE love this area. It is beautiful with lots of trees, Rock formations and a river. oh and ticks.....I do not like ticks!
Checking out the river from the bridge
These big rapids they call Wasserfalle.... I guess the water is going down hill but it ain't much of a waterfall. If only they could see the Payette river in Spring :)
Climbing on rocks on the way up the muddy trail
Beautiful ivy creeping up the tree
King of the rock!
Beautiful!!
Climbing on more rocks
There were slugs everywhere. Orange ones and black ones. Yuk!
We came across Waldschanke, a camping area for groups, while hiking back down
cool little place
Down by the river
I love how Arya is peek a boo-ing behind us
Happy Girl!
Bridger's feet and ankles were killing him by the end of the hike. Guess it is time for new shoes. Poor kid. but the rest of the time they enjoyed the hike.
