Orrin Wilder Jones

Orrin means Man of the Mountains

Born on May 15th at 10:18am

(On my Grandpa RL Jarvis' 103rd Birthday)

8lbs 13oz 20 3/4" long with a 13 3/4" head

So we set up a induction date for Thursday the 15th. Joseph had been in the field for the previous 5 days and with my parents there we decided that this would be best. Earlier that morning I had regular contractions and told Joseph maybe I wont have to be induced.

Well we got to the hospital and I was already at 4cm. That was something new for me so those contractions must have been working. They gave me an inducing gel to help my contractions to be more regular and to dilate me more. I was dilating fast. It was like a constant contraction that would not let up. NO FUN! With having Arya natural I decided to get some pain relief. I started with an IV drug and that made me feel like the room was spinning but helped take the edge off. That gave me enough reprieve to get an epidural. Once I got it It helped me to relax a bit more. They came in to break my water (which has never been done with me, my water always breaks on its own) when they did I was at a 7 and as soon as she broke my water Orrin came down and I was ready to push. So 7 to pushing stage took like 1 minute. The doctor got in position and after just a couple of pushes Orrin was out. He was healthy and in my arms. Joseph got to cut the cord and all was well. We texted my parents to give them the news and found out they were next door at the capital building taking a tour. We invited them over and the kids and my parents were able to see Orrin before he even got a bath. It was special and I am so blessed that everything went so well.

These First hospital pictures were taken not even an hour after he was born.

PS: I don't do hospital gowns...Can't stand them so that is why you never see me with one on. I have to admit I started with one but that never lasts with me :)
